Investing in the Future Workforce: Supporting the Next Generation of Skilled Trades
At Wood Equipment Company, we believe strong industries are built by strong people, and that starts with investing in the next generation.
Recently, we had the opportunity to work alongside a student intern through Bridging Communities, an organization dedicated to connecting students with hands-on career experience in skilled trades and technical fields. Programs like this play an important role in helping young professionals gain real-world exposure while building confidence in their abilities.

Bryson Marshall, a senior at New Kent High School and a student in their HVAC program, joined us as part of this initiative. During his time with our team, Bryson brought a strong work ethic, curiosity, and a willingness to learn—qualities that are essential in today’s industrial workforce.
Through his internship, Bryson is gaining practical experience that goes beyond the classroom, while also working toward industry-recognized certifications including OSHA 10 and EPA Universal. This kind of training not only prepares students for future careers, but also helps strengthen the industries we serve.
At Wood Equipment, we value the opportunity to support and mentor individuals who are just beginning their careers. Investing time in training and development is not just about today’s work, it’s about ensuring the future of our workforce remains skilled, capable, and ready to meet the demands of evolving industries.
We’re proud to be part of programs like Bridging Communities and look forward to continuing to support the next generation of technicians, tradespeople, and industry professionals.
