WEC Completes Duplex Pump Station Featuring American Marsh Self Priming Pumps

Wood Equipment Company recently commissioned a duplex pump station built around a pair of American Marsh SXT 4×4-10 self priming pumps. The system was engineered to give the customer reliable, hands off operation with smart monitoring built in from day one.

System Overview

The station pairs two SXT self priming pumps with a duplex control panel, giving the customer built in redundancy. If one pump needs service or reaches its cycle limit, the second pump is ready to take over automatically, keeping flow uninterrupted.

Each pump is driven by a 7.5 HP WEG Premium Efficiency motor. These motors are built to deliver consistent performance while keeping energy costs down, an important factor for facilities running pumps continuously or on frequent cycles.

Smart Level Monitoring

Level control is handled by a Fogrod level controller paired with a LIT 100 system. This combination gives the customer accurate, dependable level sensing without the fouling issues that traditional floats can experience in wastewater and process applications. The result is fewer false alarms, fewer nuisance trips, and a system that operators can trust to respond correctly when levels change.

Why Duplex Configuration Matters

A duplex setup is one of the most effective ways to protect against unplanned downtime. By alternating lead and lag pumps, the system distributes wear evenly across both units and extends the service life of each pump. If a fault occurs on the lead pump, the panel automatically brings the lag pump online, so the process keeps running while the issue is addressed.

For facility managers, this kind of redundancy translates directly into peace of mind. A single pump failure does not have to mean an emergency call or a shutdown.
